Monitoring Engineer for SUSE OpenStack Cloud Platform, Expert(Program- /Senior Project Manager / Solution Architect)

The OpenStack DevOps team works in an agile development mode with sprints.
The individual and engineer specific deliverables shall be jointly specified at the beginning of each sprint.
Tasks:
The supplier personnel shall work as Monitoring Engineer.
In this role, the engineer will support the team by reviewing current monitoring concepts and approaches based on his professional monitoring experience.
The engineer will also provide improvement proposals regarding which monitoring methods need to be implemented or extended, which KPI’s of the client‘s OpenStack environments need to be monitored and analyzed (e.g. for trends) to get early warnings for upcoming critical situations that require manual or automatic intervention to avoid downtimes or performance/service degradations.
The scope of the project/work includes the implementation of the proposals agreed and confirmed by the client into the existing monitoring solution.
This includes alarming, metering, log analysis of a distributed OpenStack landscape.
The concepts, software features and related artifacts need to adhere to the client‘s standards and guidelines.
Further knowhow:
Main tasks will be the creation and implementation of an adapted architecture and deployment model of the monitoring which fits to the current DevOps requirements.

The monitoring uses technologies such as:
* Zabbix
* Grafana, Graphite
* ELK (elastic search, logstash, kibana)
* Jenkins
* Tempest / rally
