Software Engineer Android "Java" "Xposed" "Germany" "Android"
My client is a Global leading provider of information and communications solutions, serving more than one third of the world's population. Their Privacy Team is working on cutting edge solutions to give end users better transparency, protection and control over their data in the context of mobile communication with cloud-based services.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Support the Privacy Team in the design and implementation of Android apps and operating system extensions to improve privacy, transparency and control of end users
- Design, implement and evaluate simplicity-focused and efficient user interfaces for those apps and extensions
- Use your knowledge of the Android architecture to suggest operating system extensions that cause as little changes to Android itself as possible
- Support the design and implementation of related Back End software prototypes
Our requirements are:
- At least 4+ years experience in Java and Android development
- Demonstrated ability to design simplicity-focused and efficient Android user interfaces
- Experience in software architecture and especially the Android operating system architecture
- At least 2+ years experience with the design and development of Android operating system extensions (eg,development of custom ROMs for Android or extensions based on Xposed)
- Experience with the design and implementation of Back End software
- Experience with Security and Privacy are a plus but not required
- Excellent communication skills, team-work spirit and independent working capabilities are required
- Fluent written and spoken English
- BSc Degree in Computer Science (or other domain-related disciplines) is required, MSc is preferred
