The project, involves developing and maintaining software applications/services for the dataflow pipelines associated with some of the world's leading optical telescopes.
In addition to the core SW development, the assigned tasks require requirements analysis in periodic interaction with project scientists, test automation, software integration, deployment and end-user support

Essential skills:
- A minimum of three years professional experience in Java software development
- Very good knowledge of relational databases and object-relational mapping technologies
- Strong linux experience.
- Proven experience in developing dynamic web applications using HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Desired skills:
- Distributed storage systems (GlusterFS, Ceph)
- Search platforms (Apache Solr, Elastic Search)
- Hibernate/Spring
- Groovy/Grails
- JQuery/AngularJS
The work will start in January 2017 for a minimum of 3 years (possibly 5 years) duration. The working location is Munich, Germany. The working language is English.
