Datacenter Engineer

We are currently recruiting for our client, a prestigious telecommunications company to support their project in Germany.

Position Title: Datacenter Engineer
Position Type: perm
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Initial 1 year

Main Responsibilities:
- Watch over and monitor IDC site (24/7, at the beginning 8/5), perform daily round check and maintenance for the data center’s infrastructure, servers and switches
- Be responsible for IT Network equipment/Servers operations and Maintenance, assisting Linux system debugging, fault locating
- Perform regular inspection, overhaul, replacement and restoration for all servers (Windows/Linux etc.), spare parts and damaged components in the data center
- Be responsible for handling regular and emergency issues and provide feedback in a timely manner and reporting
- Responsible for fiber or cable adjustment and layout in the data center , such as optical fiber, network cable and power cord
- Strictly comply with standards and norms as required by the local carrier and our client’s customer
- Provide different types of regular report as required by end-customer
- Assist data center in provisioning leased line troubleshooting and fault locating. Provide timely reportings
- Manage inventory and handover the works to corresponding warehouse assets management team within 12 hours, coordinating between customer’s equipment and logistics
- Accompany manufacturer visitors to data center, and record the visitor logs.
- Take emergency calls at night

Other responsibilities:
- To propose solutions that comprise our client’s services, telecommunication and ICT products for Enterprise customer requirements.
- To involve in the whole Pre-Sales Solution stage, bid management, such as attending customer meetings, providing presentations, writing proposals and answering RFP etc.
- Provide solution input in BSS within specified KPI timescales, ensure solution is deliverable.
- To provide oral/written communication with sales and customers to ensure accurate response.
- Provide adequate backup to other team member during leave.

Professional skills and comprehensive qualities:
- Computer-related professions, college degree or above
- Good communication and coordination skills, and strong sense of responsibility
- Exceptional documentation and file-organizing skills
- Experiences and knowledge with Linux, network and data center maintenance
- Capable to work under pressure and comply with disciplines
- Understand the underlying principle and hardware components of equipment like Ethernet switch and router.
- Understand various types of network cables and optical fibers
- CCNP, H3CNE or HCDP is desirable to have
