Software Development Engineers in Test (SDET), remotely Applause is looking for Mobile & Web App Software Development Engineers in Test (SDET) to support our Automation Solution built on open-source technologies including Appium, Selenium, TestNG, Eclipse IDE and core Java. Our primary focus is mobile automation using core Java and Appium. SDETs write the abstraction layer and test automation scripts with Core Java. They review test cases and ensure they can be automated. SDETs correct script errors, revise scripts as necessary and automate new scenarios.
Responsibilities & day-to-day activities: - Automate existing manual test cases using core Java for automation scripting
- Design, develop and extend automation tools & libraries
- Perform root cause analysis for issues uncovered by test results
- Perform peer code reviews of automated tests
- Provide technical feedback to product management and development
Requirements & skills: - 20+ hours/week available capacity
- Hands-on experience with Appium for automating web, native, hybrid apps on iOS & Android and with Selenium for automating browser-based apps
- 3+ years using core Java for automation scripting
- Experience with Jenkins CI
- Responsible, team-oriented, self-starter, proactive
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Very good verbal and written communications skills
- 3+ years in a software quality assurance or development role including experience in a manual testing role
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or equivalent experience
Preferred skills, but not required - Experience with Eclipse IDE, TestNG
- Experience automating Web Service/API testing
- Experience with an Agile/SCRUM development methodology
