Cloud Consultant/Cloud Specialist is require for a leading Energy Trading organisation based in Germany on behalf of a major ETRM Consultancy. They require a Cloud Consultant/Cloud Specialist to assists in the application teams with the transition of their applications from an on premise data centre into the new Cloud environment while enforcing increased use of PaaS services. As the Cloud Consultant/Cloud Specialist you will be working on the management of regular meetings with the application owners to drive the complete process from initial technical and financial analytics, through to their application migrations and sign off. As well as working with the Cloud team to improve the robustness and automation options of each application during the application migration.
- Previous experience managing/project managing teams of developers
- Excellent application migration skills
- Understanding of network communications eg basic understanding of port, IP ranges etc.
- Understanding of support process
- Excellent understanding of PaaS services offered by Amazon and how to adjust application architecture
- Excellent understanding of application/cloud automation via CHEF
- Produce technical communication Matrix for all in scope applications including -
- High-level diagram of existing application environment (re-using existing designs where available)
- List server names, IP addresses and port addresses of all communication
- Group communications into service and request implementation of service on Firewall (so it is ready before any work begins in Amazon)
- Work with the network team to understand communication bandwidth requirements where needed eg fat client applications, large data synchronisation between Amazon and DC
- Assist the application owner with the automation of their application utilising Chef Scripting
- Working with the Cloud team and application owner on mapping the application into Amazon PaaS (if required)
- Working with the Cloud team and the application owner to calculate the future cost of the application in the Cloud
