Main Function of job
The role will require the individual to carry out testing of mobile device software verification. Role will focus on multiple platforms including Windows, Android, and OEM specific standards. The testing will include call performance, data testing and applications testing including defect verification. Design Field Test plans, coordinate Field Testing activity, and look after day to day activities.
Specific Duties/Responsibilities

Executing field test cases focused on the voice and mobility network inter-operability on new and/or existing devices.

Investigation and logging of common technical issues found during tests, produce reports

To Review Issues coming in from 3rd party Orgs & Labs and our internal Field test staff, to ensure the issues are repeatable.

Edit test cases as needed, Run the Test case differently when needed

Thorough and methodical tester that will exhaust efforts to ensure defects are true defects before assigning to development

Capturing logs of new and existing issues found in the field, document the issues and steps for reproduction and/or escalate the issues with Team Lead and/or development engineers for resolution.

Other Field Test responsibilities, as assigned.
Qualifications/Education

Bachelor Degree in Engineering and/or Computer Science with emphasis in Telecommunications systems preferred or Technical education relating to hardware and software testing plus solid industry experience.

Technical proficiency/Good understanding and experience with mobile phone's technologies such as GSM, UMTS, LTE, CDMA

Familiar with basic concepts on wireless data protocols: GPRS/EDGE, USPA, GPRS, networking infrastructure or other packet based networks.

Full understanding of the 10776 and 3038.
Experience
-
Engineering professional with more than 1-5 years wireless technology background and expertise, including:

Minimum of 2 years drive testing experience working with voice cellular networks or wireless device certification

Previous work experience with wireless handset or network components at a carrier or manufacturer or telecom consultancy - focused on voice networks and/or devices.

Any particular aptitude/Skill required

Flexible with regards to travelling on short notice

Must be willing and able to travel up to 2 weeks at a time or as and when required.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Good problem solving skills, analytical by nature, ability to think on his/her feet

Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities

Familiar with project management process.
