Desktop Support Engineer - Contract - Berlin
Based in our clients Berlin office, the IT Support Desktop Engineer will primarily provide technology support for people situated in and around the Berlin offices. Responsibilities include but are not limited to receiving and responding to requests for technical assistance with hardware and software, managing/assisting with inventory using asset tracking software, and ensuring proper documentation, tracking, escalation, follow-up, and resolution of all incidents.
Main activities/tasks:
- To provide second and third line technical support for a number of software applications including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and bespoke software
Technical Skills
Thorough knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 8
Experience in supporting Microsoft Office 2010 (including Outlook) Internet Explorer and knowledge of other Microsoft applications and products. Preferably MCSE qualified but not essential.
Knowledge and demonstrated use of Symantec Ghost, Symantec Endpoint Protection.
Experience of laptop, desktop and printer hardware fundamentals.
Knowledge of supporting Mobile Device and tablets across multiple Platforms.
Knowledge of supporting Apple Mac's including MacBook's.
Experience of networking and connectivity troubleshooting.
Knowledge of video conferencing devices. (Preferable)
Experience of using full disk encryption.
Knowledge of Corporate communication and messaging tools such as Microsoft Lync.
