* To report directly to the wind turbine chief engineer as part of the integrated project team.* To manage the integration of the gearbox suppliers development processes (design, validation, industrialization and support) within the wind turbine development project in accordance with the elaborated gearbox specifications (RD, ICD and VRAC) and following the company product development process and procedures, assuring that the wind turbine design fulfills its product and design specifications.
* To manage the design changes with the gearbox suppliers in accordance with company changes management procedures.
* Specification of gearboxes and subsystems for offshore wind turbines.
* Development of gearboxes for offshore wind turbines in cooperation with suppliers.
* Identification of potential improvements and development of cost effective and innovative technical solutions.
* Analysis and assessment of the design, reliability and quality of the supplied products.
* Participation in the design verification, testing, validation and certification of gearboxes for offshore wind turbines.
* Compilation and elaboration of risk assessments, FMEAs, tests and validation plans.
* Design of parts and assemblies with 3D (Catia V5 and / or Inventor).
* University degree in mechanical Engineering or related qualification
* Several years of experience in development of wind turbine gearboxes.
* Comprehensive knowledge of engineering mechanics, gear and bearing technologies.
* Knowledge of risk assessment, FMEA, testing and validation strategies.
* Good knowledge of gearboxes manufacturing processes.
* Experience in computational gear calculation and bearing calculation.
* Experience in 3D-CAD (Catia V5 and / or Inventor)
* Willing to work very closely to the team members (design, loads, etc.) and the rest of components specialists.
* Capacity for collaboration with suppliers and industry partners to meet the design to cost targets.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced team environment and to collaborate effectively. Strong communication and organizational skills.
* Good command of English (written and spoken). German and Spanish are welcome.
