Job DescriptionThe Role
SOCi is a new-age social media management platform aimed at streamlining the process of managing social.
We’re looking for someone who considers programming an art form; someone who loves writing elegant code and has an innate need to create components that are easy to reuse and work well together. The thought of copy-pasting coding should cause you to shiver in horror, and badly formatted code should give you nightmares.
The candidate will need the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where quality controls and regular code reviews are rewarded by the chance to work side-by-side with other extraordinary developers - all while goofing off in the team chat room. We work hard, but make sure to laugh a lot, too.
As a new software engineer at SOCi you will kick off things by learning your way around our system. Once you are up and running, we will end up passing you bigger objectives like rewrites, new features, or system updates (and naturally, there will always be some bug maintenance, too). We move fast, so you will usually be handed some feature mocks, discuss the user cases, and then head off to the tracks. We do, however, roadmap all of our development - so despite the fast pace, you will have at least a vague understanding of where we are at, and where we are going with the product in the next few months.
The Product
SOCi helps businesses, particularly those with many locations, scale social media management. By leveraging the SOCi product, businesses can save significant time ideating, creating and managing all aspects of the social media management workflow. Can't think of great things to post? SOCi can help by leveraging our content discovery engine. Want to post the same message to hundreds of social profiles all at once? We can do that too, using our group profile manager... and these are only a few of the many awesome features housed in the SOCi platform!
Skills & Requirements
Required
· Solid knowledge of full-stack web application development
· Familiarity with JS, Backbone, and the LAMP stack
· Solid understanding of object oriented and functional programming
· Ability to work, learn, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Beneficial
· Experience with MySQL, PHP, Python or Ruby (we use PHP)
· Experience with web UI/UX best practices
· Experience with JavaScript testing frameworks
· Familiarity with Facebook, Twitter and other social APIs
· Experience with Amazon Cloud platform services
Ideally the candidate will have 2-5 years of web development experience.
