For one of our clients we are looking for a Project Manager for IT Security Projects (m/f) in Munich.
Project Description
The purpose of the network segmentation project is to utilize a best practice approach to segment our network into multiple zones. These zones are to be based on the confidentiality levels of the data and systems. Depending on the classification level of each zone, there are specific security controls needed to protect it. The principle of least privilege is to be used in restricting data access and transfer between zones to only specific users and data.
The client uses a complex, gradually grown and global network. Audits have found out the weakness that no segmentation exists within the internal network of the client. With no segmentation, a security incident may affect whole infrastructure if one part is compromised. A non-segmented network is “flat” in the sense that any device can reach any other device with minimal constraints. To close this audit gap, the Network Segmentation (NetSeg) concept is recommended.
Network Segmentation (NetSeg) is the dividing of the network into separated areas respectively zones.
The main goal of NetSeg is improving the IT security level by reducing the probability of one compromised area / zone to affect others.
NetSeg works on the network level. In addition to NetSeg, measures on systems (host) should be implemented as well (IDS/IPS) which also help to segregate systems/servers from attacks. IDS/IPS should also be enabled on the segmentation appliances (NextGeneration Firewalls).
The functional scope of NetSeg is to provide a flexible and secure network segmentation design. The geographic scope of NetSeg covers all clients networks.
Task description
Plan and delivery the project (incl. detailed effort estimations and milestones) and manage it.
Define project organization in cooperation with Project Sponsor and units involved.
Perform global alignment.
Able to communicate the business value .
Obtain quick understanding of the client´s network segmentation project to bring it on a way to success
Stakeholder-, client- and expectation-management
Evaluation of milestones and quality assurance of project deliverables
Ensure assignment of roles in project organization to qualified team members in cooperation with line managers (in IT: Service Managers) .
Coordinate creation of deliverables and monitor progress and completion of them.
Perform project internal controlling (Dates, Budget, Quality, Scope)
Conduct Risk and Issue Management for the project, plan and monitor measures for mitigation and avoidance of impact on the project.
Regular project status report (to Stakeholders, i.e. Program Management, Steering Committee).
Coordination of dependencies from and to other projects.
Coordination of deliverables and their sign-off.
Coordination of global internal and external team members as well as coordination of external service providers (e.g. during design phase or technical implementation)
Basic to mature IT security understanding, desirable: Network Segmentation
Skills:
Project Management (5 years+)
Basic network Infrastructure and security control understanding (networking, protocols, vlans, segmentation, firewalling, next generation firewall, etc.)
Track record of successful infrastructure projects
Communication Skills
Ability to quickly understand the current project situation and to deliver the project successfully.
Team player
German and English are a must
Project Manager needs to dive deep into the project to understand what needs to be achieved, how are the relationships between the several parties involved (multiple service providers, multiple stakeholders globally)
