The Group Insurance Leader is a senior-level role responsible for providing claims, policy, underwriting, and risk management services to Distributed Power. Will be responsible for educating Distributed Power employees on risk/insurance and for setting a global strategy for insurance coverage based on business risks.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for development, implementation and maintenance of insurance program and policies, claims administration program and loss control program
- Manage relationships with brokers, insurers, underwriters and service providers to secure the most favorable terms of coverage and solutions to mitigate exposures
- Lead in protecting the company's assets and controlling its losses by maintaining a comprehensive insurance and risk management program
- Elevate knowledge and awareness of risk management principles and loss prevention procedures and bring expert value to our operations
- Control the total cost of risk (cost of claims, insurance, etc.)
- Strengthen service to global businesses with focus on data collection, policy review, and risk absorption and control opportunities
- Lead risk due diligence for integration of acquisitions, and divestiture activities necessary including timely project reporting
- Supervise and perform contract review process on insurance requirements in leases, and upstream and downstream contracts
- Serve as a subject matter expert, advisor and consultant to the company on various risks, insurance programs, and optional solutions
- Oversight of company's insurance cost allocation model; perform allocation of insurance proceeds to business units
- Develop and present training/educational information related to risk/insurance to build knowledge of risk management principles and insurance programs
- For larger claims, liaise directly with brokers to determine best course of action
Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of experience in corporate risk management environment
- A history of progressively increasing responsibilities
- Strong analytical, financial, communication and negotiating skills
- Working knowledge of insurance-related statutes, regulation and common law dealing with Workers' Compensation and Third-Party liability
- Bachelor's degree required
- Language expectation: English (fluent or native), German is a plus
- You work for our customer, together in the team, on site - in the Kufstein area
Preferred
- Master's degree preferred.
- Claim handling and loss prevention experience or broker experience
