Functional Title: Senior Production Change Manager

Group: COO Safety and Soundness Production Change Management

Business Description:

The Production Change Management function ensures that required changes to the production IT environment are correctly recorded and subjected to the appropriate levels of risk-aware review, structured planning, co-ordination, pre and post implementation testing/verification and authorization, prior to implementation. The function provides a necessary level of independent control and due diligence to help ensure that all changes to the Bank's production IT environment are compliant with documented policies, standards and procedures. Production Change Management's primary objective is to ensure the ongoing stability of the Bank's production services. The group's target audience includes staff and contracted vendors who are involved in requesting, planning, managing, authorizing and/or undertaking changes to the production IT environment.

Position Description:

The objective of the position is to perform specific Change Manager responsibilities including provision of Production Change Management process governance, facilitation of discussions for conflict or issue resolution, communications to management and the user community, Change Advisory Board (CAB) chair' and support, support or training internally or to other organizational units, as well as support and sign-off for Change Management tool or service releases.

The Production Change Manager helps in the definition and management of the process in line with documented policies, standards and procedures, acts as a central point of escalation, identifies and initiates resolutions for deviations from the policies or procedures, where necessary, performs and delivers reporting to support business and process requirements, manages major change events and change restrictions, assists to onboard groups or users to the Production Change Management process, identifies training requirements and coordinates or facilitates training, as needed, and ensures related Production Change Management documentation and reference material is appropriate and available.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Manage or confer with other Production Change Administrators or Change Controllers, as necessary in regards to the execution of Production Change Management Governance.
  • Act as appoint of escalation for the outsourced Production Change Management Operations Centre.
  • Help to define and/or manage the Production Change Management process in line with published policies, standards and procedures.
  • Identify and initiate resolutions for specific identified deviations from the published policies, standards and procedures.
  • Act as central point of escalation for the change user community, addressing issues and resolving conflicts, sometimes for complex or multi-region and/or multi-business impacting changes.
  • Perform and deliver Production Change Management reporting to support business and/or process requirements.
  • Manage change event publications and change restrictions.
  • Communicate announcements, information, major events and change restrictions to the user community, as required.
  • Prepare, chair and facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, as well as manage the CAB process and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Identify and facilitate training for users of the Production Change Management process.
  • Participate in system release planning and implementations, assisting in testing and signing-off UAT, as required.
  • Maintain and ensure the availability of appropriate Production Change Management documentation and/or training material.
  • A willingness to work hours that will permit the support of other time zones, in particular early morning to support the UK

Head of Change Management, Other Production Change Managers, Production Change Administrators, Change Controllers, Project Resources, Key-Stakeholders, and End-Users

Qualifications

Experienced IT Change Manager/Controller with knowledge of Production Change Management processes, systems and services.

2-5 years large IT organisational experience within the financial sector

Strong ITIL aligned service management experience

Sound and broad technology experience/exposure in either or both infrastructure and application technology.

Ability to work independently, with little supervision, in a global and fast-paced environment; able to make level headed decisions based both on over-arching policies and where appropriate, personal production experience.

Confidence to challenge, at all levels, in order to protect the stability/integrity of the production environment.

Highly-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to manage multiple initiatives/objectives from conception to conclusion.

Ability to ensure all tasks and deliverables meet agreed due dates, demonstrating flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

Experience with leading meetings, performing presentations and ability to influence, negotiate and reach consensus, as required, in order to implement or present business decisions or objectives.

Proactive in identifying and recommending continuous system or service improvements.
