For a role with an end client of Q_perior we are looking for a Data Architect (m/f) to support the Client's reporting Workstream.
Role :
1. To support the structured reporting business requirements gathering process
- Contribute to the definition of a successful requirements gathering methodology including the artifact
template design
- Support the Business Analyst in the capturing requirements for flexible reporting applications as
opposed to simply re-building legacy fixed reports. This will involve:
- Educating the Business Analyst so they understand the concepts described above
- Ensuring that the proposed business designs are technically viable and if not helping the Business
Analyst to adjust the design
- Ensuring quality within the business requirements documents, work with the Business Analyst to
improve quality where necessary
- Developing presentations and or PoC's that help explain reporting tool capabilities to the business
- Responsible for identifying fixed reporting, reporting applications, self serve data-lake reporting so the
appropriate documentation can be completed
- Responsible for the qualification, harmonization and scope of business terms. This will include
ownership of the data dictionary and any other related documentation.
- Responsible for the documentation of the structured data ( including warehouses + reporting layers ).
It is assumed this will consider the data model, the data lineage, the business rules and data retention.
- Responsible for ensuring consistency between the report requirements and the structured reporting
layers requirements
2. Contribute to the security architecture design. Work with the security architect to translate
business requirements into a practical, cost effective data security architecture.
3. To support the data lake Workstream, both educating the business ( in structured and
non-structured reporting ) and supporting the development of a PoC to promote the capabilities
of a data-lake reporting solution. Also should help support the documentation and the delivery of
the recommendation
Required Skillset:
1. Strong experience in designing and leading the conceptual, logical and physical design for
distributed databases , should have practical experience with tools such as Power Designer or
Erwin
2. Strong understanding of activities within primary discipline such as Master Data management
(MDM), Metadata Management and Data Governance (DG)
3. Strong experience of warehouse and reporting application design, including visualization and
reporting tools, data profiling analysis and transformation
4. Strong experience of Business Requirements gathering for a reporting Workstream
5. Strong experience of SQL Server, QlikView, MS BI
6. Experience of the Insurance or Reinsurance industry
7. Some experience of Hadoop and other data scientist tools and languages
8. Ideally will speak English and German fluently
9. Experience of Cloud Data Technologies, solutions and future Cloud Data strategy an advantage
