For our client located in Dusseldorf we are currently looking for a Proposal Manager in Perm/
Arbeitnehmerüberlasssung (labour leasing).

Period: ASAP -

Job Purpose:

To manage activities in accordance with enquiry and proposal management processes - ensuring that legal, commercial and technical requirements of proposal production are met.

Main responsibilities:

The post holder's responsibilities include:

- Act as point of contact in Proposal Management with respect to pre-qualifications, enquiries and proposal management.

- Lead and co-ordinate the proposal preparation for mainly international projects (including large/complex projects) and ensure that they have appropriate technical, legal and commercial design and structure.

- Analysis of inquiries and tenders; definition of bid strategy together with Sales and Operations.

- Liaison with internal departments as well as external partners regarding the set-up for the proposals, and procure internal approvals for proposals and bids.

- Preparation of pricing calculations and risk quantification during the proposal preparation.

- Challenge schedules and costs from technical departments included in proposals for large/complex projects.

- Ensure that technical, commercial and legal risks in the proposals are quantified and managed through appropriate terms and conditions (input and/or support by other departments, ie tax, legal, etc.).

- Co-ordinate the proposal submission process.

- Support the proposal, contract negotiation and claims discussions which are lead by others.

- Review the incoming contracts/orders and prepare the order confirmation and contract calculation in consultation with the lead technical department/project manager

- Co-ordinate the compilation of the order documentation (enquiry, proposal and order) and hand over the documentation to the project manager


The post holder will have:

- Degree-level education (Bachelor, Master of Science degree or equivalent) in business administration, economics or engineering or respective experience on the job

- More than 5 years work experience

- Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Proposal management, procurement or project management for international projects of the power generation or the gas + oil industry
  • Project management, engineering processes and disciplines (interdisciplinary)
  • Managing technical work packages in a technical sales environment or customer relationship management
  • Contract management/risk (technical, commercial, administration, legal, etc.)
  • - Proven analytical skills and entrepreneurial judgement

    - Leadership and interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach

    - Comfortable to work with commercial, legal and technology content and stakeholders

    - Ability to communicate effectively and strong team player

    - Flexibility and readiness to work outside home country (on business trip basis)

    - English as a prerequisite, additional languages welcome

    - Experience of MS Office applications
