Project Description:
The EU's legislative bodies have prepared a new Data Protection legislation. The EU General Data Protection Regulation will significantly change EU data protection law in several Areas. The Regulation was adopted on Mai 2016 and will come into force on Mai 2018. There are several areas which have “adjustment requirements”, e. g.:
• Data processing agreements with vendors and suppliers
• Consent declaration
• Information and access to personal data (to affected individuals)
• Register of processing activities
• And some other new tasks (e. g. Data Protection Impact Assessment)
In order to comply with these requirements, a project within the “Regulation and Information Security” program has been started to prepare our client and fulfil it’s necessary obligations, while minimizing impact on all Line Functions. The project is setup with a “Central Team” that primarily translates the regulatory requirements to our client´s context, defines and aligns solution approach, devises guidelines & templates, provides necessary tools and conducts compliance trainings. This Central Team is complemented with “Local Teams” led and driven out of (and for each) Line Function who are expected to implement the guidance from “Central Team”. The intent of this setup is to deliver majority of the tasks centrally and only leave Line Function specifics to Local Teams thereby reducing the overall impact on Line Functions.
