Proteus Europe is searching for a Big Data Architect for a contract position with our client based in Nuremberg, Germany.
Our Client:

Your New role:
- Design and build scalable infrastructure and platform to collect, process and analyze very large amounts of data (structured and unstructured), including streaming Real Time data
- Work closely across an array of various teams and organizations in the company and industry
- Exhibit Strong technical team leadership, mentorship and collaboration
- Provide technical support to all team members during project execution
Your Skills and experience:
Essential Skills:
- Enterprise architecture and over 3+ years in Big Data.
- Strong experience in Requirements gathering, Solution Architecture, Design, Development and Deployment
- Implementation experience on at least 2+ Big Data projects
- Proven experience in Data modelling and architecting Big data-based Platforms for large customers
CLIENT MANAGEMENT SKILLS
- Must possess good client facing experience with the ability to facilitate requirements sessions and lead teams and present analysis in business terms
- Must have led/managed/executed analytics driven project through the complete life cycle of the project
DESIRED EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
- Certification in any Hadoop distribution
OTHER DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
- Confident and self-starter
- Must possess a detail-oriented approach
- Ability to adapt and thrive in the fast-paced environment
- Good written and oral/presentation skills
- Willing to travel and adapt to different client environment
- Should have been responsible for implementation of full life cycle of a Hadoop solution, including requirements analysis, platform selection, technical architecture design, application design and development, testing, and deployment
Desirable Skills:
- Architecture Design, Data modelling and advanced SQL experience
- Should have in depth knowledge on Cloudera Big data distribution
- Hands-on experience with Design and development on Hadoop stack including Hive, Impala, Spark, MapReduce, Oozie, Sqoop
- Hands-on experience with related/complementary open source software platforms and languages such as Java, Python
- Experience in any search engine platform such as Solr is desirable
- Experience in Agile development methodology
