For one of our clients in the financial sector in Frankfurt am Main, we are searching for a Compliance Officer with strong background in similar positions in the financial sector. The professional will coordinate respective activities and follow regulatory developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the company's compliance with existing regulations and introducing new regulations
- Supporting the governance bodies, maintaining the development of the company's control framework
- Ensuring compliance with the company's procedures and policies derived from the IOSCO principles, as well as the EBA/ESBA principles
- Coordinating periodic external audits
- Training management and other staff members; advising the business
- Performing gap analysis with regards to new regulations, especially the EU Benchmark Regulation, analysing their impact, coordinating its implementation within the expected timeframe
- Communicating with the respective EU supervisory authority
Ideal Profile:
- University Degree in Law, Economics, or a related field of study
- 7+ years of experience in a Compliance role in the financial industry
- Strong experience with the set up and maintenance of compliance structures
- Experience with analysis of impact of new regulations and licensing procedures
- Ability to provide strategic advice to senior management
- Experience with communication with supervisory bodies
- Contribution to the further development of industry best practices
- Pervious experience in the index industry will be a strong advantage, as well as knowledge of the EU Benchmark Regulation
- Excellent analytical skills, ability to deliver projects with strict deadlines
- Fluent English and German skills
