About the Project: Our client, a leading organisation in the FMCG Sector is seeking a highly experienced SAP MDG Architect to drive the strategic evolution of their Master Data Governance landscape. With robust SAP MDG implementations already live for Vendor and Product master data, the focus is now expanding to critical Customer data initiatives and consolidating a holistic MDG roadmap for future growth.

The Role: As the SAP MDG Architect, you will be a pivotal figure in shaping the future of master data governance. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the definition, design, and synchronization of the overall SAP MDG roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical architecture. This includes strategic planning for upcoming Customer data initiatives and integrating all MDG streams into a cohesive, long-term vision.

Key Responsibilities:
MDG Roadmap Development: Lead the assessment of current MDG capabilities for Vendor and Product, identify future needs for Customer data, and architect a comprehensive, phased MDG roadmap that integrates all master data domains.
Strategic Design & Solutioning: Define the architectural blueprint for new SAP MDG initiatives, particularly for Customer master data, ensuring robust, scalable, and sustainable solutions.
Synchronisation & Integration: Act as the central architect to synchronise efforts across various MDG streams (Vendor, Product, Customer, and future domains), ensuring seamless integration, data consistency, and alignment of processes and technologies.
Technical & Functional Leadership: Provide expert guidance on SAP MDG best practices, data modelling, workflow design, integration patterns, and data quality strategies.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, external partners, and senior management to gather requirements, present architectural solutions, manage expectations, and gain consensus on the MDG roadmap.
Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential architectural risks, propose mitigation strategies, and resolve complex technical and functional challenges related to MDG initiatives.
Vendor & Tooling Assessment: Evaluate potential third-party tools or SAP innovations that could enhance the MDG landscape.
Documentation: Create high-quality architectural documents, design specifications, and roadmap presentations.

Required Skills & Experience:
10+ years of SAP experience with a significant focus (5+ years) on SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).
Proven Architect-level experience in SAP MDG, including successful roadmap definition and strategic solutioning for complex MDG landscapes.
Extensive hands-on experience with SAP MDG implementations, including data modelling, workflow configuration, UI modelling (Fiori/WebDynpro), data quality, and replication.
Demonstrable experience with at least two of the core MDG domains: Vendor, Product (Material), and/or Customer.
Specific experience or strong understanding of SAP MDG for Customer is essential.
Deep understanding of master data management principles, data governance frameworks, and data lifecycle management.
Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA architecture and integration capabilities relevant to MDG.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team, with strong leadership qualities.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
