Job Description: Project Manager – Decentralized Energy Markets
We are a team focused on developing flexibility solutions across Europe, with a particular emphasis on large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. Our role is to organize and develop projects in collaboration with regional teams, ensure assets are connected to relevant market channels (from Wholesale Markets to Balancing Power Services), and provide cross-market optimization for the commercialization of flexibility.
Role Description / Tasks:
As a Project Manager, you will advise on the origination and approval process for battery projects in Germany, contribute to the development of market access and optimization solutions in Germany and the UK, and take responsibility for building and documenting a compliant, end-to-end process for trading flexibility products in the German market. Additionally, you will serve as the bridge between the team managing large-scale BESS projects and teams working on small-scale flexibility solutions.
Your tasks will include:
Performing classical project management duties, such as coordinating all involved parties (regional units, technical integration teams, trading desks).
Providing senior advice to junior product developers on the regulatory, commercial, and operational requirements for BESS trading in Germany, supporting the front-to-end implementation and documentation of processes.
Originating and developing the BESS pipeline with internal teams, managing the overall business case, and orchestrating the approval process for projects.
Offering senior guidance on regulatory and commercial requirements, as well as creating products and solutions for small-scale (B2C) flexibility sources.
Acting as a requirements engineer between the battery projects and the relevant IT service providers (virtual power plants) needed to integrate the assets into the appropriate energy market channels.
Serving as a translator between energy trading desks, market access teams, regulators, and battery projects.
Performance Days: 5 days per week
Onsite/Offsite: 20% / 80% (by arrangement)
