Project Duration: Immediate start through December 2024 (possible extension)
Location: North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany
Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote per week)
We are seeking a freelance Master Data Management (MDM) Consultant with strong experience in finance and controlling master data, and deep expertise in SWIFT banking codes. The ideal candidate will work closely with our migration teams, providing expertise and support while ensuring alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Master Data Management (MDM)
Support management and maintenance of finance and controlling master data, ensuring accuracy and consistency
Provide expertise in SWIFT master data, including banking codes and transaction-related data
Support implementation of data governance frameworks to improve master data quality
2. Techno-Functional Expertise
Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to support migration solutions
Support requirement analysis and process mapping for master data systems
Help troubleshoot and resolve technical and functional issues related to finance and controlling master data
3. Project Collaboration
Support MDM-related migration projects, working closely with the migration team
Review project plans and documentation, providing expert input
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes
4. Regulatory Compliance
Ensure master data aligns with financial regulations and SWIFT standards
Provide guidance on compliance requirements for financial institutions
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
Work with finance, controlling, IT, and migration teams to align master data needs
Support training and knowledge transfer on master data processes
Experience
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Master Data Management, with focus on finance and controlling
Proven expertise in managing SWIFT banking code master data
Experience in both functional consulting and technical implementation
Previous experience supporting data migration projects
Skills
Strong understanding of finance and controlling processes in corporate or banking environment
Proficiency in MDM tools and systems (e.g., SAP Master Data Governance, Informatica)
Solid knowledge of SWIFT standards and banking transactions
Familiarity with project management tools like MS Project, Jira, or similar
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Language
Proficiency in English is required
German is highly desirable
