Service description:
Our client plays a major role in the Belgian and European energy landscape, building sustainable, green and reliable energy infrastructure. The company is seeking freelancers to work remotely and locally on various national and international projects.
The mission consists of:
• Support the Solution Architecture function within the IT Architecture department of Elia Group
• Contribute to optimizing Elia’s IT infrastructure and application landscape
• Design and adapt technical solutions addressing business challenges while modernizing the application landscape
• Support transformation initiatives for business units in Belgium and Germany
• Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, IT stakeholders and subject matter experts
The service consists of the following tasks:
• Analyze and adopt functional and non-functional requirements and constraints
• Decompose business capabilities into relevant solution building blocks using recommended architectural styles and patterns
• Align stakeholders across Product Organization, Architecture teams and delivery teams
• Participate as part of the delivery team and ensure solution delivery according to architectural design
• Deliver solution architecture designs in line with Elia Group’s architecture vision, standards and guidelines
• Design solutions covering integration design, application architecture and available tools
• Follow architecture governance processes and Design Boards for decision making and gating
• Apply architecture decision techniques such as ADR, ATAM during the design lifecycle
Requirements:
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience as a Solution Architect
• Ability to work autonomously and proactively engage stakeholders at all levels
• Strong result-oriented mindset
• Agile mindset; experience working in an Agile environment is a plus
• Experience with IT standards and frameworks such as ArchiMate, TOGAF, ATAM, CBAM
• Strong team player, open to peer feedback
• Experience with architecture modeling languages such as ArchiMate
• Experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect is a strong plus
• Solid knowledge of Domain Driven Design (DDD)
• Experience with modern architectural paradigms such as microservices and event-driven architectures
• Willingness to continuously learn, share knowledge and embrace change
• Comfortable facilitating discussions (e.g. whiteboard-based architecture discussions)
• Fluent in English and German (mandatory)
• Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus
