Python Developer - Contract - Germany/Remote
Our key client, a global leader in BIG DATA and ANALYTICS, has some VERY exciting short term Python Developer contract roles (*with potential to extend) on a HUGE Agile Transformation Programme in Nuremberg, Germany (UK Ltd/Umbrella paid in £).
The client is running a large data processing system to obtain market research insights from Point of Sales (POS) data provided by their retail clients. An important first step to processing this data is to match the retailers' descriptions of sold items to the way such items are described in my clients master data set or to create new records for so far unknown items.
This project is about reducing the manual efforts when performing these coding and matching processes by utilising Machine Learning technologies in an combined Cloud/on premise environment.
This role will involve the successful candidate being on site in Germany 4/5 day per week with some potential to work remotely after a few weeks 1 to 2 days per week.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent Python application development knowledge (Scripting is not enough!)
- Strong experience in developing REST API's
- Strong knowledge on micro-service based architectures including orchestration and containerization (Docker)
- Strong knowledge on testing in Python (libraries, best practices, test automation)
Desirable Skills:
- MongoDB Aggregation and MapReduce Know-How would be a plus
- Solid knowledge on building distributed systems
- Knowledge off relational data base management systems
- Ideally: knowledge on measuring code quality and code analysis tooling for Python
