Visual C#/.NET Developer - Financial Services/Banking
This is a rare opportunity to work on-site at a large, prestigious financial services organisation, with no prior financial/professional services experience, playing a key role in the creation and evolution of a number of high-importance applications! Our client are looking for a capable Developer to assist in the development of applications, using C# and .Net, as well as supporting a range of existing platforms.
The chosen candidate will be involved in all stages of the SDLC; tasked with understanding business requirements, designing application structures, programming and testing, implementing and creating user-guide documents and further documentation. You will be expected to follow existing team policies to ensure a common development style, be involved in updating .NET frameworks and platforms and work closely with relevant departments and members of staff, such as DBAs, to ensure smooth processes, as well as defining database objects and setting up Citrix/application Servers.
In addition to development, the chosen candidate will support existing programs, troubleshooting issues and systems in the event of failure, and investigating or escalating further when required, and ensure that any issues and all associated change history is recorded accurately.
To be considered for this role, you will need the following skills and/or experience:
o Strong .NET 4.x/Visual C# 5.x development experience
o Sound knowledge Oracle 12c or SQL Server 2014 Back End databases (including Scripting in T-SQL or PL/SQL)
o Some knowledge of VB.NET, VBA for Excel/Access and/or Excel macros in order to make system amendments and support Legacy apps written in these languages. Some of these Legacy apps will be ported over to C#
