A reputable organisation in Ikoyi-Lagos is urgently looking for a Business Analyst which good analytical skills and experience as a BA to help capture and develop business processes across the various functions of the business
Key Accountabilities:
- Develops a strong familiarity with business processes that are in their area of business focus
- Establishes and manages effective customer relationships with users of business, financial and operations systems, as well as technical team members
- Applies analytical skills within functional area to decompose work into manageable value-based units
- Responds to requests, identifies conflicts, and makes recommendations where needed
- Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems
- Uses knowledge of business processes to identify interdependencies and functional gaps
- Builds strong working understanding of the technical solution being delivered and analyzes and determines failure points in the solution
- Contributes to the application testing process (directly or to support end users)
- Creates and updates documentation, as appropriate, for selected project framework
- Maintains a familiarity with market trends in technology
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Investigates and supports evaluation of alternatives for, and feasibility of, improvements in information, technology, process, and/or organizational systems
- Supports development of recommendations and business case rationales for investment in new or enhanced solutions
- Investigates, identifies, analyses, and captures business systems, processes, information, and other forms of detailed specifications & requirements
- Supports the development and delivery of solutions
- Translates business requirements to technical specifications and interface with other technical staff to design, develop, and maintain solution
Knowledge & Skills
- Exhibits rudimentary knowledge on how IT solutions are constructed
- Ability to develop relationships and formal and informal networks to influence, coordinate, communicate, and organize groups/teams
- Developing experience creating user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and test plans/case.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and/or similar applications, preferred.
- History of providing task-oriented work direction to others
- Clear understanding of SQL queries for data transfer or business reporting, preferred
- Exposure to Information Technology (IT) development, operations, or equivalent
- Considerable familiarity with common software tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Microsoft Visio and Project preferred
- Knowledge of Appian workflow methodology, preferred
- Demonstrates personally accountable behaviour and shows initiative and enthusiasm on assignments
Contract Duration: 3 months initially, however could possibly lead to a permanent role
