Initial contract: 5 months

Daily rate: £300 inside IR35

Location: remote working

Industry experience: NHS exp.

The Role:

Responsible for the production and coordination of the monthly management accounts and corporate reporting/financial planning. Finance Lead for Corporate reporting/
Financial Planning.

KEY RESPOSIBILITIES

Provide a comprehensive finance and business support service across the organisation to enable the resources to be managed effectively, efficiently and within budget;

Ensure the financial performance is accurately reported to various committees and organisations in a timely manner including NHS England and the Governing Body;

Support the Deputy CFO to ensure that financial plans are developed and incorporated into budgets in an accurate and timely manner;

Support the production of the annual and strategic financial plans;

Investigate and advise on highly complex financial issues and provide corporate reports/strategic financial and business planning advice;

Manage the team in line with the policies and procedures;

Participate in the regular financial plan and corporate reporting monitoring arrangements, to support the commissioning process and to ensure accurate reporting of financial information;

Participate in the contract negotiation process where relevant supporting the commissioning/contracting teams with financial analysis and advice, control over affordability and risk/scenario analysis and interpretation so that final agreements reached provide good value for money;

Plan, develop and evaluate methods and processes for gathering, analysing, interpreting and presenting qualitative and quantitative financial data and information;

Analyse, interpret and present financial data to highlight issues, risks and support decision making;

Responsible for making recommendations and providing financial advice to the Commissioning and Contracting Teams and relevant Groups/Committees, as required;

Requirements:

Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level within the finance function of a complex organisation;

CCAB, ACCA, CIMA-qualified Accountant - member of a recognised Accountancy Body;

Extensive knowledge of budgeting, financial management and accounting processes including In-depth specialist knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, financial aspects of NHS legislation and NHS finance policies;

Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development;

Experience of negotiating high value complex healthcare contracts;

Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement;

Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health, NHS England and individual provider and commissioning organisations.
