Linux System Admin Support
18 Month Contract
Location: Hatfield
Pay rate up to £410 per day inside IR35 via Umbrella
Role Purpose
Linux System Admin support the deployment and maintenance of mainly Redhat based Linux Servers and other distributions
Accountabilities
Carry out clearly defined deployments
Create clear documentation
Develop deployment plans which clearly take account of likely issues
Account for future needs with rock solid timescales
git maintainer with the ability to provide guides to the documentation manager that are fit for purpose for the Product specification team
Liaise with network planning
Adhere to the internal change management system at all times
Provide capacity planning for the estate allocated to you as required
Develop agent software or configurations to automate resource alerts
Perform other IT duties as assigned or requested
Personal Qualities and Experience
Good overall IT knowledge and comprehension
Knowledge of informational technology disciplines; eg, software applications and interfaces, production operations, quality assurance and systems management, etc.?
Passionate about technology in general
Displays a start-up mentality with a motivating and proactive working style.
Demonstrates initiative, tenacity, resilience, patience, and creativity
Flexible approach to work and hours as needed
Knowledge of BSS/CRM/ERP systems desirable
Knowledge of VPBXs, SIP and VOIP a distinct advantage
Knowledge of Web services, APIs, XML methodologies expected
A broad high-level knowledge of computer science across multiple operating systems and flavors of Linux, particularly. Redhat based and debian.
ssh/screen/bash Scripting/other Scripting/AWK/SED ninja
MySQL, (Postgress) - admin skills
Oracle query skills highly desirable, no maintenance knowledge required
General IP network skills essential

VMware deployment and management
Additional preferred skills:
AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Docker - distinct advantage
Orchestration Tools - distinct advantage
