Lead Data Scientist - Maidstone, Kent/WFH split
£650 per day (OUTSIDE IR35)/3 months rolling contract/based in Maidstone, Kent with a 50/50 split Working From Home (WFH)
A leading AWS Advanced Consulting Partner seek an experienced Lead Data Scientist to help deliver innovative cloud solutions to their clients. They build, improvise and optimise with a level of care and customer relations second to none.
Core requirements for the Lead Data Scientist:
- Focus - specialising in AI/ML.
- ML Competency.
- Able to deal with sales and pre-sales.
- Can also complete works some scratch.
- Heavy focus on Python.
Ideally 50/50 remote working split (3 days in, 2 days from home).
Job Description for the Lead Data Scientist position:
- Expected to turn raw data into valuable insights that organisations need in order to grow and compete.
- Interpret and analyse data from multiple sources to come up with imaginative solutions to problems.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to, for the Lead Data Scientist position:
- Communicate findings to all stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
- Enable smarter business processes-and implement analytics for meaningful insights.
- Keep current with technical and industry developments.
- Identifying and integrating new datasets that can be leveraged through their product capabilities and working closely with the engineering team to strategies and execute the development of data products.
- Execute analytical experiments methodically to help solve various problems and make a true impact across various domains and industries.
- Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for client business needs, and collect large structured and unstructured datasets and variables.
- Communicate analytic solutions to stakeholders and implement improvements as needed to operational systems.

Qualifications/Experience for the Lead Data Scientist position:
- Exposure to AWS is essential.
- AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty (certified or working towards).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional.
- Experience with Python and R (desired).
- Python, (Pandas, NumPy, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Scipy, LightGBM, XGBoost, CatBoost, Keras, TensorFlow, imbalanced-learn, GNN, Network Analysis).
- Phd in Math/Physics/AI/ML/science realted (Desired).
- Deep learning, familiar with MLops, NLP. Neural networks.
- Extensive experience within an AI/ML/DS role.
- Previous client facing and pre-sales experience.
- Project management experience.
- Operational steering experience.
- Experience developing machine learning models.
- Computer vision.
