Harvey Nash's Public Sector client is recruiting a Portfolio Analyst on a contract basis until September 2022, inside IR35.
The successful candidate will assume a Portfolio Analyst role that will provide project related support to an experienced team of portfolio specialists to support them in managing an exciting and varied portfolio of early-stage, high growth companies to ensure that the economic impact and commercial value is maximised.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project support to up to 3 portfolio specialists in managing the portfolio of investments, including for example reviewing business plans, cash flows etc. for follow-on investments and helping gather relevant information for exits, consents etc.
- Supporting the relationship management of portfolio companies, including liaising with the company, investors and partner contacts where required.
- Monitoring and assessing the performance of investee companies through collection, collation and review of economic and financial information and data.
- Ensure all key information and documentation, transactional or business as usual, is obtained and recorded on internal systems like SharePoint and on investment management system.

Essential Skills:
- Educated to higher level.
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to manage and plan time and activities.
- Financial acumen, with good numeracy and analytical skills.
- Strong communicator who thrives in working in a team.
- Logical approach to problem solving, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
- A degree in a finance/business/accountancy/law/economics or related subject.
- Experience working in a previous finance or investment role.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in packages such as Excel, MS Teams.
- Interest in economic development or early-stage company investment.
This role is currently remote, however travel may be required across the Central Belt in the future.
