The global digitization Initiative for Trade Finance Automation aims at automating all steps of Transaction Processing, Compliance Checks and Reporting for the Trade Flow product portfolio. The goals are market competitiveness, human-error reduction during input and data verification steps, regulatory compliance, safeguarding and increasing revenues offering state-of-the-art solutions to international corporate clients. Addressing paper-based document digitization via Intelligent Document Recognition / Optical Character Recognition, enhanced by Named Entity Recognition using Data Analytics for data extraction and validation, enables streamlined Transaction Monitoring with automated compliance checks and reporting. In his role as Product Manager / Product Owner on the business side working in globally distributed Management and agile IT delivery teams, Mr. Poetica was successfully leading the Projects within the Program from initiation stage to global rollout phases of the different components holding timelines and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction. Focusing on Compliance Analytics, his tasks encompassed the introduction of the Agile way of work, setting-up efficient frameworks for the teams, product Requirements elicitation, developing strategic scenarios and delivery prioritizations, global process harmonization, both on business and IT-side, Senior stakeholder management including proactive decision-making, reporting and liaising with international regulators and Anti-Financial-Crime&Compliance departments.
The Regulatory Initiative around the General Data Protection Regulation, with penalties being enforced from 25th May 2018 on, is a EU wide regulatory compliance requirement. Mr. Poetica has acted as Program Manager and initially on local Project level for Switzerland, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Channel Islands from initiation to execution. The respective Program phases had to be aligned with the Change Governance Framework from scratch, working together with various stakeholders in different regions and involvement from Records Management, Legal & Compliance, Senior Management, CIO and IT executives in a large number of bank used applications containing PII data leading to passing several tollgates ensuring the Program’s divisional and group wide success.
Mr. Poetica’s responsibilities as Project/Program Manager encompassed a board-driven offshore restructuring initiative in Enterprise Services comprising of forty-two applications subject to transition. Additionally to managing the transition team and business responsibles onsite, Alex was eliciting and consolidating information from respective stakeholders in order to perform and facilitate an extensive application assessment prior to transition. The assessments covered technical, regulatory and organizational perspectives. This approach served the purpose for enablement of an informed business decision and signoff as a prerequisite for a successful transition into the target organization and future operational model.
Within the agile digitalization program called “Future Operational Risk Technology”, Alex Poetica was involved in delivering a Big Data / Business Intelligence solution to customers in Operational Risk Management, Reporting and Analytics. His tasks encompassed the range from Project Management, Stakeholder Management, Requirements Elicitation, Solution Design, to Data Mart Modeling, identifying Business Value and Support of the development, testing and implementation phases. Posterior to the successful delivery of the database products, Mr. Poetica proactively facilitated Knowledge Transfer within the inter-national scrum team and assisted in Near-Shore Outsourcing on high and low level, holistically covering all managerial and technical aspects of the deliverables.
