Skills

I am a full-stack developer, focused on javascript and python. I am interested in learning as much as I possibly can and increasing my fluency in the entire journey from security and dev-ops, to data, to performant APIs, to the frontend presented to the end-user. Because, at the end of the day, learning new things, building things, and solving problems is what gets me out of bed in the morning. I'm currently open for freelance projects, get in touch!

I am interested in a challenge. After five years and a successful career as a mechanical engineer, I found myself no longer learning at the company where I worked, so it was time for a change. I had been interested in software development as a hobby for some time, so I decided to take the step and explore coding as a career- it has been a great fit for me. I love that it is a learning career- I am challenged to always stay on top of new technologies and expand and adapt my skills.

If you're looking to hire technical people, what they can ALREADY do is certainly important... but almost more important is finding someone curious, who has a passion to learn, and is not only willing but excited to face new challenges and solve problems.

My current stack is:
- react
- redux
- gatsby
- vanilla JS
- express JS
- node JS
- GraphQL

Ada Health

* built an embeddable-web-version in React of Ada Health (Ada Web Embed) for integration into a
US-based client's website, including GDPR-compliant integration of Google Analytics
* built an express backend layer to connect to the react frontend, route and transform data between
services, and deal with error handling and CORS
* contributed to a python service which transforms JSON diagnosis reports, extending it to support
REDCAP for use in clinical trials, and implemented alerts to send report of transport failure to
configurable email groups or slack channels
* built a vanilla-JS wrapper for the Ada Web Embed to make it nearly effortless to drop in to a client's
website, inspired by Intercom and Google maps
* developed custom client integrations for the mobile application in React Native, including one of
the largest insurance providers in Germany

01/2017 - 01/2018

HRS

* rebuilt hotels.de, replacing an agency-built solution with react, redux, graphQL, server-side rendering,
and express, without causing disruption to the existing customers, and increasing upon
the 6-million-euro per year revenue, localized and available in 6 languages
* developed a multi-tenant platform solution by which other hotel-booking websites owned by the
HRS group could also generate their websites, which had similar functionality, but could now be
made more consistent, maintainable, and extendable
