Responsible as HR BP for Germany, Switzerland and Austria with approx. 190 employees and their line managers across Europe and US, and 1 junior HR (Trainee); Coaching management regarding organizational transformation and local impact, especially legal advice, operational processes in Matrix organization, and global strategic initiatives. POA granted for HR related documents in all 3 countries.

Major Achievements: payroll provider change with workflow re-defining and defining a concept for a Shared Service Center, implementation of a Health and Safety Officer in the German organization to meet legal requirement, evaluation of new employment law firm for collaboration in termination cases, implementation of Corporate Benefits in Austria, and introduction of new benefits plans for Germany and creation of LOA guideline for DACH, introduction of a Culture Champions Community and multiple activities to create awareness of Diversity and Inclusion in DACH, introduction of peer group leaning sessions, introduction of LinkedIn Learning platform, and lunch & learn sessions.

Brazil, operational HR support for French speaking countries approx. 250 employees was done from Paris HQ); team of 3 direct reports (2 HR Managers and 1 HR Director with a local team of 3) plus 3 Generalists (functional reporting, disciplinary reporting to the local country heads), member of the global management team, participation in the bi-annual strategy meetings.

Major Achievements:
Implementation of new standard employment contract across EMEA, restructuring of Back office (F&A,HR Admin & Payroll, Sales & Service Admin, and General Admin functions) for the 3 German entities. Introduction of new recruiting process (methodology of competency based interviews aligned to competency model) and performed needed trainings for HR and line managers, introduced new annual Performance Review with new questionnaire and approach, and training provided to all employees and managers in EMEA, evaluation of a new learning platform for technology training, power user and roll-out of a new HRIS (based on Salesforce technology platform); M&A: HR Due Diligence and responsibility for employee integration and implementation of HR standard processes and procedures, created HR concept for reorganization of HR in EMEA with Shared Service Center functions across EMEA.

Motivation for change: Contacted by a former colleague who worked for ServiceNow who made me aware of an interesting opportunity to be part of a growing innovative software company to shape the company culture and processes.

Major Achievements:
Restructuring project with -10% headcount, finished 30% under planed and approved budget without legal proceedings; supported closing of 1 office location with a works council & social-compensation plan, created new Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), New Joiner Day, and a new Retention program for High Potentials. Motivation for job change: Received several Headhunter calls with good job opportunities, CA in DACH was not really open to change; too much resistance like e.g. "why shall we change, it works" and "we have always done it in this way".

  1. Recruitment - University to Senior Director level for all business lines, implementation of completely new recruiting process with defined SLA’s, re-created the MicroStrategy SummerSchool for students, negotiation of  employment  offers and contracts with headhunters, recruitment and  advertising agencies in line with approved budget, On-boarding with new initiatives created as pilot project in DACH and implemented within a year globally: first week agenda and  New Hire Day for all new hires in EMEA.
  2. HR Development - created and implemented 2 year development & training plan for German team, sales competency model incl. individual development plans, implementation of new global Career Path Consulting program based on new Competency model.

  2. HR Development – implementation of worldwide annual review process and evaluation of employee training & education, and evaluation & coordination of annual outdoor team building event.
  3. HR administration – all aspect of updating HR information in personnel files, supporting annual review process up to giving advice in disciplinary cases. First HR in Europe - all processes, procedures and documents needed to be localized and/ or set up.
  4. Mass redundancy 2001 with approx. 60% headcount cut (DACH region: ca. 120 employee down to ca. 45 employees incl. Office closing in Austria & Switzerland) with no budget for severance packages.

Further responsibilities from August 2001 based on organizational restructuring and change:
