By preparing the merger of IT and back office desks of Zürcher Kantonalbank and BCV, the
IT unit had grown massively. Initial target for the job: cost reduction of 25%. This was
achieved within 2 years by a tough turnaround management. In parallel an IT strategy and
target application architecture was defined. Stable operations and management of a broad
project portfolio, business and cost optimization, had to be organized in parallel.
Budget at start: 410 mCHF,1200 staff, after reduction 300 mCHF, 900 staff.
