Job Description:You will be part of a team responsible for Installation, Configuration and ongoing support of Routers, Switches, Firewall, VPN concentrators and other Infrastructure items within the International environment.
Elements of Network design will be required in addition to working closely with other areas of the IT organisation globally.
Experience with both Wide-Area-Networking (IP, QOS, VPN) and Local-Area Networking (LAN, VLANS, VTP, Ethernet) is key, coupled with a working experience with Cisco (routers, Switches, PIX, OSPF), Firewalls and Wireless technology’s.
Advantageous would be a working knowledge of WAN Optimization (Riverbed), Load balancing (F5 Big IP), IPAM (Solarwins), IPAM SSL VPN, Intrusion Detection (Palo Alto) or any other Network Security elements.
Additionally advantageous; Experience of Incident/Task Management and Network Monitoring toolsets.
Cisco certification (CCNA/CCNP)
Responsibilities:
• Day-to-day maintenance and support of the Network Infrastructure locally and remotely
• Metrics and Reporting of Global and Regional Network Environments.
• Configuration Management for all LAN + WAN equipment.
• Assist with Project and Technical Infrastructure initiatives.
• Asset management of all Infrastructure hardware and software.
• Responsible for communicating critical events and system outages to Management team. Owns event and outage process through resolution.
• Maintaining and creating documentation on the supported Infrastructure.
• Moderate travel (~25%) to cover the International Infrastructure.
• Participates in change control and application release efforts.
• Identifies ways to improve quality or efficiency within the department through root cause analysis of calls and cases. Works with Manager to implement processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency based on results.
• Continually expanding knowledge of new technologies and uses for currently deployed systems.
• Performs special projects and assignments as requested by the Lead or Manager.
• Requirement to Support Out of Hours operations and participate On-call.
German speaking is a strong plus.
Very strong English communication is very important also.
