On behalf of a leading telecommunications company SOLA Consulting GmbH is looking for a Linux/Unix expert who can provide configuration management expertise to an exciting database R&D project. The goal is to build and support a virtualized environment for development testing and benchmarking. This is a part-time contract position (50%) based onsite in Munich. The duration of this project is 6-12 months and for an intended start date of March 2nd.The roles and responsibilities will include:
- Support agile lifecycle of development process.
- Plan, install and manage on-demand, cloud based development environments.
- Interpret configuration management activities and tools and apply them to project activities. Work with the project manager to develop configuration management plans, milestones, and schedules for projects. Suggest alternatives as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, test and deploy software releases to various virtual environments
- Be a focal point in the team for all system administration, test automation, configuration management, and virtualized environments issues.
Key Requirements
- Masters Degree or higher in a technical field
- Extensive Linux and C++ programming skills
- Python or Perl programming knowledge would be beneficial
- Commercial experience of working with Jenkins as a continuous integration tool
- Knowledge of defect tracking tools and configuration and release management
- Candidates must have either a valid German work permit or be an EU National.
- English is the business language but any German skills will be of benefit.
- Willingness for part-time (50%) work
