We are looking for IBM Storage Administrator for an urgent opening with one of our esteemed clients.
Job Title : IBM Storage Administrator Job Type : ContractLocation : Prague, Czech Republic.
Job Description :
- Adhering to SLAs
- Reporting to the Track Lead
- Mentoring/Training Team Members
- Assign tasks to the team members
- Monitor team members and their SLAs
- Configuration Management
- Handling tickets/requests
- Perform root cause analysis
- Troubleshooting technical issues
- Defining processes and ensuring that the processes are adhered to
- Oversees and is responsible for successful completion of Installation, configuration and migration
- Ensure maximum uptime according to the SLA
- Understanding of Multi-geo support environment
- Responsible for building/maintaining a test environment
- Responsible for strategizing a backup plan and test plan for failure scenario
- Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction
- Suggests new technologies and design changes
- Monitoring and maintaining SLA requirements by the team members
- Planning Backup/Restoration Strategy for 24x7 operation support
- Suggesting patches/upgrades to maintain security level
- Testing/Auditing/processes as required from time to time
- Identify Skill gaps and plan for training/knowledge updating
- Provide day to day global operational activities for Storage and Backup/Recovery teams including administering,
Storage array architecture
SAN infrastructure
Network Attached Storage (NAS)
Enterprise Backup/Restore
Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM)
Archival and Retrieval
- Perform all chargeback estimation, provisioning, and documentation tasks in a timely manner
- Produce regular reports for management, to assist in cost recovery, capacity planning and consolidation
- Assist in Data centre consolidation efforts
- Perform H/W & performance monitoring and maintenance
Technical Requirements :
- Working knowledge of Enterprise-class Fiber Switch/Director Hardware from Cisco, Brocade, or McData required
- Hands-on Experience with Veritas, LVM, Powerpath Multipathing
- Good Exposure on Monitoring and Replication Strategies (ENGINIO, TPC, Global Copy and Metro Mirror)
- Strong Storage concepts on LUN mapping/creation, F/C Switch Configs and Zoning
- Exposure on IBM ESS & DS series
- Essential
- Windows and/or UNIX administration,
- HDS SAN administration
- Zoning and diagnostic skills.
- Netbackup v6 and v5, RMAN
- TSM on AIX
Other Skills/Experience :
- Worked on Production systems
- Datacenter understanding
- Experience with Migration, Installation, Upgrades and Patching
- Storage Management Techniques
- Familiarity with :
- IP Network
- WAN and LAN free (SAN) based data backup design and configuration
- Data protection and backup recovery solutions familiarity such as
- using virtual tape
- disk to disk to tape
- data replication
- File System and Database Familiarity
Certification requirements :
- Storage Certification/ITIL
