Enterprise Architect (Workplace/Infrastructure)
Location - Berlin, Germany
Start Date - ASAP
Duration - Initial 3 months (project to run for 6-9 months)
Rates - Approx £/day inclusive
This role is with an international manufacturing enterprise. You must be willing to work in Berlin (Monday - Friday), however some remote working may be an option, and many of our consultants travel on a weekly basis from the UK.
You will need 5+ years Enterprise/Infrastructure Architecture experience, with a focus on Desktop Transformation a plus. Strong skills in one of Windows Desktop technologies such as Remote Desktop Services, VMView or Citrix XenDesktop, Systems Management (BigFix/Tivoli preferred, Altiris/SCCM/other), Data Warehousing (Splunk or similar) and as many other technologies are preferred.
Great pro-activity, soft skills and stability are needed. Any type of server experience is a plus. You will be working closely with the Project Manager and tasked for anticipating issues to ensure the effective and on time delivery of the project.
You will work closely with our Service Provider partners to deliver professional design, build and service documentation and identify opportunities that can help enhance the business or project performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of technical architecture design, evaluation, and analysis.
Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in 2 of the following 4 areas:
- Client Operating Systems (eg Microsoft Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Linux/Unix).
- Systems Management (eg IBM Endpoint Manager/Tivoli/BigFix, Altiris, SCCM, Radia)
- Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence (Splunk).
- Server Based Computing (Remote Desktop Services, VMWare View, Citrix XenApp/Desktop, etc.), Application Virtualization Build (Microsoft App-V, Endeavor, InstallFree, ThinApp, etc.), Thin Client, Deployment (Wyse, HP, etc.).
Minimum of 2 year of professional experience in 2 or 3 of the 5 following areas:
- Desktop transformation and rollout.
- Service transformation and outsourcing.
- Application packaging technologies (MSI, scripts, ThinApp).
- Virtualisation technologies: VMware, XenServer, Hyper-V.
- Other technologies: SmartCloud Control Desk, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Eagerness to lead on designing, building, testing and delivery of Workplace focused solutions.
- Thoroughly document all facets of the solution from Requirement, infrastructure, Service Models and supporting documentation.
- Deliver written or oral status reports regularly.
- Adapt to existing methods and procedures to create possible alternative solutions to moderately complex problems.
- Understand the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals.
- Use considerable judgment to determine solution and seeks guidance on complex problems.
- Manage small teams and/or work efforts (from internal and external resources).
Preferred Skills:
- Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF).
- Previous Consulting or client service delivery experience.
- Architectural exposure to any other technologies.
- Technical/Team Leadership Experience.
