Civil Works Design Engineer – Berlin

A Civil Works Design Engineer is needed on contract basis in Berlin for one our clients, a prestigious international Telecommunications company. Applicants shall speak fluent German, and are eligible to work in EU.

Responsibilities:
Support Project Manager in establishing CW processes and procedures and actively support agreements for these with our clients and partners
define and agree with, the CW specifications and standard documentation (process and planning guidelines)
Maintain an overview of the Partner’s performance and manage the Partner accordingly to ensure continued output, quality and safety. Define targets for permitting, design and construction in terms of timelines, dead lines and budget/ costs set-out by customer
manage the CW input from the partners
attend BTB in a spot checking or advisory role
monitor the production of the planning drawings and review as necessary
ensure that the Partner CW designs are reviewed by the client, coordinate different expert evaluation and ensure keeping timelines overall
monitor the build permit applications and other permits by the Partner
check and monitor cost variations to the model site prices
ensure the availability of all current standards, specifications and general requirements of the client where applicable
suggest solutions to technical queries to progress the CW works
suggest solutions to sites with difficult CW design problems
review the site realization schedule and overview the Partners resource allocations
attend site acceptance surveys as required
ensure the correct data is entered in the Project databases and Customer database,
where applicable ensure correct format, structure and transfer of documentation
review the Partner invoices and monitor the performance of the Partners against their contractual responsibilities

Skills and Qualifications:
strong experiences in planning/design of steel infrastructure (towers, roof tops sites) and current legal conditions necessary to receive relevant permission for construction approval in Germany
familiar with CW design principles for a radio cell site in Germany, for site operator (alternatively deep know-how on planning guidelines of German mobile operators)
expertise on one or more build trades as of steel construction, electrical system, lightning protection system, antenna system, building construction, civil engineering, site safety assurance (alternatively gained experience on several of this field through proofed job track records)
systematic approach and analytical thinking, very good communication skills
Site Building Permit, other necessary permits and approvals for a radio site installation
Scope of Work for planning, design and build a radio site
Technical Standards in Germany on electrical, grounding, and feeder installation work
radio site safety area (controlled access area)
BNetzA approval requirements
Basic Principles on static calculation requirements
landlord maintenance handling and general habits in lease contracts
cost estimations for different site build trades
coordination requirements for multi operator sites (shared sites)
safety requirements for installation work (EHS rules and principles)
common and specific certificates and documentation necessary to produce during CW installation
electronic format and hard copy documentation usually used for site and infrastructure acceptance
operator’s planning and work principles
fluency in German and English
