My client based in Germany is looking for a Specialist (m/f) Rolling Stock Depot Design and Equipment expert for their Integration Engineering department. You will carry out system analysis, planning and optimization of railway transportation systems as part of bid and execution projects. Your responsibilities therefore would include the selection, assessment and delivery of the appropriate maintenance equipment.
As a member of an international team of specialists, you will support the bid and project execution teams and report directly to the head of the Integration Engineering Subsystems department.
Technical evaluation expertise in planning and system design, within the context of depot layout, in the design of maintenance equipment in complete solutions is necessary.
Drafting of technically binding tenders and concepts, including obtaining and evaluating tender's responses received from subcontractors.
Functional planning of depots and design of associated logistics and maintenance processes
Analysing request for tenders with regards to technical system requirements for depots and commenting on whether the content of the tenders conforms to the tender documentation requirements.
Designing and optimizing the technical layout of depots and coordinating related activities with the subsystems involved within the project.
Adapting the system concepts to project-specific requirements taking into account the mandatory regulations and standards.
Calculating the cost for delivery, installation and commissioning of the maintenance equipment in line with project schedule and requirements.
Preparation and writing of technical documents on the basis of the systems and equipment implemented during the project execution phase
Planning and coordination of installation, commissioning and approval of the equipment for subsystems.
You will ideally have:
Degree in engineering, preferably in electrical engineering, traffic engineering or traffic planning, or successful completion of a technical based apprenticeship
Extensive professional experience in railway transportation systems, ideally in the systems business
Experience in the planning of depots and in the planning of maintenance work
Knowledge of bid and interface management, as well as analysing requests for tenders and contracts
Project experience in the context of international customer or development projects desirable
Technical team leadership desirable
Fluent English essential, good knowledge of German and other foreign languages such as French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic an advantage
Due to the international orientation of the projects, mobility and willingness to travel is essential. This may also require long-term delegations.
