Software Architect - IMS
My leading telecommunications client is seeking a Software Architect (IMS) for a contract in Germany. Ideally candidates will be from a telecommunications background and have good German language skills. You should have strong Java and Application Server development experience in addition to knowledge of IMS and core networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Packaging in Core Java and J2EE.
- Integration with 3PP Libraries (Camel, Hibernate etc.).
- Handle Release Management (Jenkins + Subversion + GIT)
- Perform Configuration Management activities.
- Java development and architecture
Experience:
- Design of architectures for distributed software systems
- Application Server knowledge
- OSS experience/knowledge
- Agile software engineering skills (Jenkins, Maven, Java, C++, Jira)
- All kind of Java technologies, eg JAX-WS, JMS Swing
- Experience in R&D tools, eg IDE (eclipse), subversion, GIT, maven
- Competence in broadband, IMS, and core networks
- Excellent overview of Open Source communities and development trends
- Experienced in all phases of a software development process, starting from requirements analysis, architecture evaluation and design, implementation until final acceptance test together with the customer
- A background in telecommunication professional services, or carrier operations is preferred
Furthermore knowledge in one or more of the following areas is beneficial:
- Databases, especially Oracle, PostgreSQL and JPA
- Basic knowledge: CORBA, SNMP, LDAP
- Knowledge of the SI Delivery Toolbox
- Knowledge in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
You should have very good verbal and interpersonal communication skills. You must be fluent in oral and written English and act as a team player.
Education:
MSC, MBA or equivalent work experience preferably in Telecommunications, Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering or equivalent education
