An Offshore Wind Energy Operator is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to focus on the electrical offshore substation package on multiple Offshore Wind Pre-Construction (OPC) projects. The Client requires this individual to start ASAP at their Hamburg offices on a 12-18 months contract (dependent upon FID), working Monday to Friday in the office. Fluency in German and English languages is a must.Responsibilities:
Ensure that essential safety precautions are established (according to legislation, best industry practice and company standards) and maintained on the high and medium voltage transmission system, before any activities, such as commissioning, testing, repair, maintenance or capital replacement work, are taking place
Responsible for the electrical design and LV layout within the substation scope, including the certification of the electrical, utility and mechanical systems
Adequate provision of electrical engineering support for the ELP, in terms of reviewing the technical aspects of the contract - in conjunction with the engineering team - and ensuring the designs comply with the specification, prior to accepting the designs and authorizing the contractor to proceed to the accepted program
Manage and define the electrical design and taking into account all relevant HSSA, QA, permit, certification, technical and commercial aspects
Interface with turbine and other electrical packages and plant suppliers to ensure consistency and satisfactory performance of works
Technical review of reports, design and system studies supplied by contractors and third parties
Review of supplier designs and clarify technical solutions
Provide electrical support for implementation, commissioning and maintenance
Skills:
10+ Years of power plant construction and operations experience
Projects and construction with working knowledge of electrical and structural with direct hands on experience in international work being required
Working knowledge of industry project completion standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
Working knowledge of practices, processes, and expectations with respect to systems completion and commissioning
Must be able to work well within a diverse large multi-cultural jobsite
Must be a high initiative, high engineer, able to work well with little supervision
Demonstrated deep knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Project
Demonstrated knowledge of Primavera P6
Previous successful construction engineering role during Project Management and Construction execution
German excellent and English fluent
Understanding of German Electrical codes
