We are looking for a senior "Factory Automation" engineer with strong on site customer experience and communication skills. The right candidate has extensive experience in managing Level 2 applications and developing system design for manufacturing organization. The candidate possesses required skills for level 2 application development/maintenance across process areas (electric furnace, smelter, hot rolling, cold rolling, cut/shear lines) in steel industry. The candidate has good experience of documenting L2 requirements, use cases, and solution design. The candidate should also have proven track record of mapping as-is manufacturing process and Level 2 applications. The candidate should apply the models and documentations created for the following activities (but not limited to): training and knowledge sharing, system support, future state designs, and continuous improvement
- Proven analytical skills in manufacturing systems architecture and resolve complex business/manufacturing process problems.
- Experience in Level 2 applications in manufacturing domains preferably steel industry.
- Experience with industry recognized Level 2 applications (Siemens/Rockwell/Honeywell/GE ).
- Experience in Controls (L2) systems modelling documentation and familiarity with standards.
- Interfacing and date exchange with Level 1 systems (PLC/CNC).
- Interfacing and date exchange with Level 3 systems (MES/SCM).
- Working knowledge of Shop floor control systems (PLC input/outputs, ladder logic)
- Experienced managing a global Level 2 application rollout to drive global consistency while allowing for regional variation when necessary.
- Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus
- 6+ years of experience in leading Level 2 applications in manufacturing discipline preferably steel.
- 10+ years of application analysis/application development experience/integration experience in manufacturing environment
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Economics or related field; advanced degree is a plus
