For a large telco provider in the UK and Dusseldorf we are urgently seeking an experienced Big Data Engineer to be part of a 20 man team in Dusseldorf. The team consists of data engineers, data testers, data scientists, a SAP HANA architects, big data experts, ETL system designers and big data engineers in both the UK and Germany. Experience with similar projects in telecoms is definitely a plus.
Knowledge of Hadoop, SQL, Vagrant, Scala, Spark, Python, Jira, Git, Jenkins, and other data technologies is desirable.
You are used to working with Waterfall/Agile & Scrum methodologies, and will be part of a dynamic team. They are currently experiencing issues with the implementation as well as memory issues (re-engineering is required) and a bad code of 13k lines of code requires clean up.
