As DevOps Platform Engineer you will support the development teams to transform existing IT environments into state-of-the-art platforms and development frameworks. You will:• Review and re-design the application deployment concept together with the agile teams and identify required tasks and improvements
• Set up the environment plans for the software releases in sync with the delivery strategy
• Coordinate new requirements (hardware platforms, deployment tools, together with the application owners and new demand Unit) and initiate relevant environment tasks (e.g. cloning, environment split,…
• Create and keep up-to-date inventory about all available development and test environments to ensure transparency about existing clusters, machines, packages, operating system versions, middleware/database versions, and application names and connectivity.
• Implement relevant new components to ease environment control and deployment (containers, continuous deployment, configuration management
Your Profile
• Bachelor´s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
• several years of work experience in IT with focus on software deployment of database-assisted systems in various operating environments
• Oracle DB Adminstration und SQL Performance TuningsSkills , Oracle Golden Gate, Oracle Editioning, Cont. Integration and Deployment
• ideally sound practical knowledge of relevant tooling for virtualization, containers, configuration management, testing and monitoring with exposure to new solutions (e.g. Clearcase, Docker, git, SVN, Splunk etc.)
• end to end thinking with ability to find feasible solutions in a complex high availability applications environment
• practical hands-on experience on maintaining complex live database environments
• excellent spoken and written English, German a plus
