Positionsbezeichnung: Consulting – Disaster Recovery Planning (f/m)

Projektbeschreibung: Our customer is looking for a Consultant Disaster Recovery Planning (m/f).

Duration Max. 20 Mandays

Anforderungen: Background of this request is, to get consulting for the existing Disaster Recovery Planning.
The requirements are described in following and should be offered as a complete package:

1. DR Dry Run Preparation
o Activities:
- Understand DR strategy and implemented solution incl. RTO/RPO requirements
- Review of existing DR roles and responsibilities
- Review of existing infrastructure DR documentation and procedures
- Conduct interviews with DR plan owners, if required
- Review of organizational and process setup (DR invocation, escalation, communication, interface to
(major) incident management, interface to business continuity and crisis management)
- Identification of potential gaps and development of recommendations for improvement measures
- Definition of DR dry run objectives, test scope, scenario, attendees, and time-frame
- Briefing of relevant stakeholders and DR dry run participants
- Identification and execution of any additional pre-test activities required

o Critical Success Factors:
- Management announcement and support of the project
- Availability of contact persons and interview partners
- Availability of relevant DR documentation

o Results
- Initial quick check of DR documentation, processes, and organizational setup incl. findings and recommendations
- Agreed DR dry run objectives, scenario, and scope
- Successful completion of DR dry run pre-test preparations

2. DR Dry Run Execution
o Activities:
Conduction of a two-day facilitated DR dry run workshop that
includes the following activities:
- Simulation of the DR plan execution in a pre-defined and non-threatening manner
- Step-by-step walkthrough of all DR phases and procedures with all relevant stakeholders and DR role owners based on the agreed disaster scenario and timeline
- Support and guidance of DR role owners and stakeholders through the exercise
- Detailed documentation of all relevant observation, insights, identified challenges, inconsistencies, required changes, and follow-up items
- Joint feedback and lessons learned session to conclude the DR dry run workshop

o Critical Success Factors:
- Thoroughly defined and agreed exercise goals and scope
- Active participation of stakeholders and DR role owners to critically challenge the plan and discuss improvements
- Participants are aware of their DR roles and responsibilities and know the DR procedures
- Peer quality check of DR instruction by resources that are not yet familiar with them

o Results:
- Successfully conducted DR exercise
- Raised level of DR awareness and hands-on experience with the relevant stakeholders
- Identified corrective actions, observations and recommendations for improvement affecting organizational and technical aspects of the DR plan

3. DR Dry RunReport & Follow-up
o Activities:
Creation of a formal exercise report incl.
- Detailed protocol of activities, events, and decisions
- Documentation of results, successes and lessons learned
- Documentation of observations and recommendations based on DR good practice
- Identified risks and improvement measures Definition of prioritized next steps and alignment with stakeholders regarding required changes/updates to
- DR documentation
- DR technical solution
- DR procedures and organization
- Presentation and hand-over of final results

o Critical Success Factors:
- Constructive cooperation of all stakeholders to discuss and prioritize required changes and improvement measures
- Availability of IT management for alignment on final results and recommended next steps

o Results
- DR dry run report
- Prioritized measures for improvement
- Final presentation
