Big Data Engineering In a PhD Paradise
Have you ever managed a key global Data Migration project in a team littered with PHD Data Science Talent?

Your job?
Well, you probably already know what a Senior Big Data Engineer does.
You do it.
In this job, you’ll be doing it in a project that crosses functions, teams and international regions.
YOU MUST CURRENTLY BE BASED IN GERMANY AND HAVE A WORK VISA ALREADY IN PLACE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS JOB.
You should be experienced at implementing projects using Scrum principles and you will need to:
• Take ownership and responsibility of 2 Oracle databases with huge Datasets.
• Own and clean the data. Manage how Data is worked with (First 3 months).
• Consolidate and migrate both databases to a Hadoop environment (2nd half of project).
• Build a new enterprise solution from current prototypes.
• Be a Data Management best practices Guru.
• Be very proficient with Unix environments, SQL, RDBMS, C++, HDFS, Pig, Spark, Hive.
• Be comfortable with working remotely 70-80% of the time.
• Have a minimum of 3 years Data Engineering/Development experience.

You will be able to work from home 70-80% of the time and, the Day Rate is much higher than usual.
