On behalf of one of our clients in Essen, we have been asked to find a very experienced Linux System administrator.You would need to have a very strong knowledge in Linux (SLES, RHEL), in-depth knowledge in VMware
Duties and responsibilities:
• System administration of SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) a RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in a VMware environment and on dedicated servers.
• Focus: daily business at datacenter, especially Incident management / Problem management / Change management.
• Optimization of Linux operations and tuning of operational standards.
• Migrations and SW rollouts.
• Cluster-Administration (Heartbeat, Pacemaker).
• Scripting.
• Analysis of performance and faults.
• Creation and optimization of operational documentations.
Experience:
• A minimum of at least 5 years experience in the Administration of Linux systems.
• Very strong knowledge in Linux (SLES, RHEL).
• Technical knowledge referred to described duties.
• Strong knowledge in VMware.
• Basic knowledge in other Unix derivates (preferred AIX), SAP and Oracle-DB-Administration are welcome.
• Certification in Linux is desirable.
Languages English in written and spoken
German is desirable
Location: Essen, Germany
Project Duration: ASAP to February 2017 (with the option to extend).
Flexible Working time
Usual but flexible business working hours.
Occasionally working in the evenings, on weekend and on-call support.
Personal characteristics
Teamwork, flexibility, good communication skills, independent and autonomous action, resilient even in complex fault situations, experience in dealing with customers
