Job Summary:
The Network Manager's main objective is to oversee the effective management, maintenance, and continued service of the enterprise WAN/LAN/WLAN technology. To achieve this objective the position manages qualified network staff and coordinates network and computerized management information systems within an environment that utilizes various technologies and vendors: VPNs, VDI communications, Cisco, Huawei, voice, video & convergence as well as multi-layer security firewalls.

Job Responsibilities:
• Manage staff & projects encompassing all aspects of network hardware and software, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers, access points (AP’s), networks closets (IDF’s), network nodes, terminals, patch panels and wiring.
• Lead team to perform analysis of network needs and design of network architecture, integration and installation.
• Engage consultants to ensure that the network provides sufficient bandwidth to deliver the desired level of business performance.
• Manage the monitoring and maintenance of network stability by collecting & analyzing network and memory utilization. Install and test software upgrades.
• Work w/ team to monitor network performance and determine whether adjustments need to be made (Quality of Service, Bandwidth Shaping, etc.)
• Lead team in monitoring Internet carrier connectivity, failover and troubleshooting. Plan for changes in bandwidth requirements over time.
• Coordinate third-party maintenance for network hardware, software and services.
• Establish budgetary requirements for equipment replacement, maintenance contracts & upgrades.
• Review network hardware/software requirements & capabilities and work w/ team to develop recommendations.
• Lead checks of systems in order to optimize performance and to initiate recovery action after system failures.
• Ensure vendor specific and general ongoing training to staff on LAN/WAN network administration and usage.
• Develop and cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, peers, vendors & service providers.
• Coordinate with other departments in order to understand and meet their requirements.
• Negotiation and contract management with consultants, technical personnel and vendors for services and products.
• Ensure that documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts are regularly updated.
• Develop, maintain and test disaster recovery plans on regular schedule.

Other Functions & Responsibilities:
• Work with Security Team to plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Manage scheduling & maintenance of configuration data backups.
• Oversee creation of Network Operations Center (NOC) for all network devices.
• Perform on call scheduling for team.
• Manage inventory of all network devices.
• Ensure critical HW & SW is under maintenance contract/support.
• Oversee management & monitoring of IDF (network closets & related equipment, UPS, PDU, etc.)
• Monthly Review of issues, call volume, response time, etc. Internet carrier connectivity, failover and troubleshooting
• Research & implementation of newer technologies such as Software Defined Network (SDN), Telepresence, etc. to address future needs.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred with 8 years progressive career advancement in the network communication environment field
• Strong hands-on technical background with at least four years in a operational role.
• A minimum of 3 years technical management experience.
• Excellent knowledge of communications in a dynamic growing organization.
• Must be comfortable setting priorities and managing to deliverables.
• Solid knowledge of standards, best practices and key performance metric reporting.
• Well-developed ability to successfully prioritize and maximize resources within a complex, highly dynamic and aggressive growth environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Ability to present operational reports to senior management on a monthly basis.
• Work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines and expectations.
• Highly effective interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team environment and promote cohesion and pride with the team.
• Strong organizational, project management and analytical skills
