The SAP Test Sub Lead will define or assist in the definition of the test strategy and approach for all Programme Test Phases, provide quality assurance leadership, and be ultimately responsible for ensuring product quality. This individual must have a proven track record of success building, leading, and managing a functional and technical SAP test team with a strong sense of quality ownership. This is a hands-on job that requires strategic thinking and planning to provide leadership and expertise throughout the entire QA life cycle, ensuring the success of the team's manual and automation testing efforts. The Test Sub Lead will provide regular direction, mentorship, and coaching to the SAP test team members.
Test Sub Lead will report to the SAP Test Work stream Manager and when required, deputise for the Test Work stream Manager

- The role will be based in Hannover, so a fluent German speaker is mandatory

Responsibilities
- Develop/assist in definition and help drive a high-level Test strategy, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy.
- Lead efforts to develop, document, and implement applicable QA processes and procedures to provide more effective quality methods within the group in support of providing quality products.
- Create, implement, maintain, and enhance test plans, test scripts, and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned software systems to ensure compliance with software/system specifications.
- Develop SAP quality test plans and test cases, and lead in setting and maintaining the standards for Software Quality Assurance test documentation.
- Be highly committed to create automation for regression and feature testing.
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive SAP test plans to ensure requirements are met.
- Anticipate potential software problems by creating exhaustive test scenarios that ensure comprehensive testing.
- Document all testing results in conjunction with test plans/test tools.
- Identify and analyse defects/test results and be able to deduct the chain of events leading to a failure.
- Identify areas for test improvement through analysis, experience and use of metrics.
- Communicate critical issues and status updates in a timely manner.
- Educate and train peers and subordinates on the QA process and provide guidance to them when they are unclear about the process.
- Provide coaching and guidance to the SAP test team on testing best practices .
- Plan, organize, and monitor the test execution schedule for the test team.
- Ensure that the test schedule is adhered to and the work is completed according to the schedule.
- Participate in daily defect meetings
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with peers in SAP Functional and Technical teams, Project Management, and stakeholders
- Provide test reporting metrics to stakeholders
- Manage time off requests for staff within department and ensure that minimum team coverage is maintained.

Skills and Knowledge
- German speakers are preferable, as the role will be predominately based in Hannover Germany, 4-5 days per week
- Skilled in managing SAP projects through complete project life cycle

Experience
- Minimum of five years testing/QA experience with at least two years in a management role.
- Must have proven experience using QA tools, packages, and methodologies during this time frame.
- Must have experience working in an ASAP project environment including design, testing, deployment, maintenance of test scripts and documentation activities.

- Have extensive daily contacts with programme and business representatives.
- Acquire and relay information utilizing proficient communications skills.
