Beschreibung

My client is a multinational service provider for the pharmaceutical industry, employing more than 30.000 employees worldwide.

For the site based in Baden-Württemberg, we are looking for an experienced and responsible freelance Leader for Vendor Management. It is strongly desired to be able to begin to work the next possible date with an amount of at least 4 days a week.

As Leader of the Vendor Management team, you will be responsible for the following topics:
  • management, development and quality assurance of suppliers after the conclusion of the contracts
  • the focus of topics will be on software as well as IT-services, e.g outsourced helpdesks, less on hardware


Purpose: Lead the development and delivery of contracts with vendors of global scope and/or ample significance, in order to provide cost effective, quality contracts, which meet current and future business requirements. Drive best practice for contract/supplier management processes within IT, ensuring risks are mitigated and drive the benefits associated with managing vendors at a global level. Ensure global vendor management best practice is implemented across IT-Function, in compliance with company policies and standards.

Principal Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
  • Vendor Management process and strategy
  • To define and implement the strategy and process for Vendor Management to ensure best value for cost, quality and flexibility.
  • To own the commercial implications for all key contracts, to identify re-negotiation opportunities.
  • Create a cohesive local-global exchange where local counterparts adhere to the global framework
  • Propose cost reduction opportunities agreeing corrective action with accountable managers. Contract management Process
  • To develop, implement and maintain the Contract Management process, ensuring that other colleagues, global and local, are aware and ensuring compliance for all contractual matters.
  • Identify contracts and vendor agreements for review, identifying stakeholders and influencing at senior levels in order to initiate prioritise reviews to gain maximum benefit.
  • Demand Management
  • Ensure that vendor's service outcomes achieve the company´s business objectives
  • Align demand with supply and coordinate successful service delivery
  • Improve demand management to understand business value and expectations regarding every serviceRelationship Management
  • Create strategic partnerships with vendors, building trust and ensuring highly productive relationships that provide value to company operations
  • Financial Management
  • Monitor the costs, quality and effectiveness of the services, constantly seeking to improve
  • Ensure all approval for all vendor services is based on business cases and monitor ROI
  • Challenge colleagues at all levels to change established practices and precedents for the overall profit and effectiveness of the business
